Shiromani Rangreta Valmekin Warrior: Baba Jeevan Singh
Baba Jeevan Singh brought the head of Guru Teg Bahadur.
Baba Jeevan Singh (also spelt Jivan and Jeevan) (1649-1704) was a Majhbi Sikh General and an accomplice, companion and friend of Guru Gobind Singh the 10th Guru of Sikhs.
When Guru Teg Bahadur Ji, the ninth master of Sikhism, was martyred by Aurangzeb, his head and body were separated and his head was hanged in Chandni Chowk of Delhi.
Aurangzeb challenged the bravery of the Indians that if a heroic son is born on this earth then lift this head from here. Then Baba Jeevan Singh, born in Valmekin Community accepted the challenge of Aurangzeb and bravely lifted GuruTegh Bahadur’s Head from Chandni Chowk and left for Guru Anandpur Sahib.
Jeevan Singh moved to the opposite direction and turned towards Uttar Pradesh so that he could dodge the Mughal Army.
In Uttar Pradesh, he stayed for a few days in a Valmekin settlement, which is called Sisai Padha 322 km from Delhi to Anandpur, Jeevan Singh travelled much more than he decided on foot. On reaching Anandpur, he met Tish Bahadur Ji’s chief Guru Gobind Ji, and Guru Gobind Singh Ji took him with his neck and said, “Son of Rangreta Guru”
When Baba Jeevan Singh fought against 1.2 lakh soldiers.
In this era, such antimony is born who fought for religion,
who just didn’t sacrifice himself but also sacrificed his family,
Every era calls him Shiromani Shahid Jeevan Singh.
Born of the 9th master Teg Bahadur, Guru Gobind Singh was stuck in a war in Chamkor Garhi,
then Baba Jeevan Singh took out safely the tenth Guru Gobind Singh Ji from Chamkor Garhi on 23rd December and fought Mughals with the help of only a few arrows and two guns.
When the arrows and bullets ended he jumped into the battleground while waving the sword in the hands and killed 1.2 lakh of Mughals, and became martyrs.
Dasam Guru who also praises his bravery,
” सवा लाख से एक लड़ाऊं, तभै गोबिंद सिंह नाम कहाऊं।”
“make 1 fight against 1 lakh
then I would be named Gobind singh. ”

Baba Jivan Singh comes from the Community of Valmiki Community, they are known as Majbhi Sikh They were the Valmekins, who converted themselves to Sikhism to save themselves from manuvadi and Swarna varna casteism system, however, they still face the casteism issue in Sikh Community hence they were called Majbhi Sikhs, You can check, Majbhi Sikhs are getting the same reservation as Valmekin Community get in Punjab.
